12.06.17 // Margate

Many people think of Margate's heyday as the popular seaside resort whenever it's mentioned, but to us locals it's been pretty dead for such a long time. For a few years there has been a great deal of investment in the town so I figured while I was back home it was as  good a time as any to go exploring and see what it had to offer.

I'm not going to lie but I was extremely surprised by the number of independent restaurants and cafes that were on offer...we ate at a place called GB Pizza which was actually really good! There are so many cute little shops as well as vintage shops, so it's really good to just wander about. There's also the Turner Contemporary gallery which is quite nice to just have a look at (although I got so confused by the pieces that were currently on exhibit as they seemed pretty abstract!). It's also worth mentioning the beach and the amusement park Dreamland, which both have their obvious plus points!

If you're in the area I'd definitely say go and have a nosey round the town, it's so nice and there is so much you can get up to. With new bars, restaurants and shops popping up all the time it's worth a visit...

09.01.17 - Interior Wishlist

Living at uni is a lot of fun as your room becomes a blank canvas that you get to design exactly how you want (as long as you don't have garishly coloured walls!). I eventually decided to go with the colour palette of greys, mints and turquoise as it fulfilled my love of neutrals without looking too bland or clinical. I thought I'd share my favourite homeware items available now, with a few of them already being on my wishlist...

Buying my Macbook...

So yep it's finally happening. I'm going to be buying my macbook in about an hour and I'm so freaking excited I think I might burst. It was about a year ago that I decided I wanted one, because my laptop is pretty bad (not going to lie but I feel like I'm about to cheat on it, I'm slagging it off whilst writing on it!) and it's just so pretty and such a good investment and ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I have spent so long counting the pennies, scrimping on makeup, walking away from Costa (apart from the occasional times when it's cold, and I've had a bad day cause a girl's gotta get her happiness from somewhere). But after a whole year, and a trip to the bank that made me realise I have more money than I thought, it's about to happen.

I am a little worried though...my student discount card runs out tomorrow so I hope I don't lose the major money off offer, and I changed the macbook I wanted a week ago, I have changed my mind so much so I just went back …

A Quick Catch Up

I'm officially back, something I've said many times before but now it's for good. Sorry not sorry. My exams are all done and now I'm free to do whatever I want (within the law and my work schedule, obvs). I have kind of missed having my little space on the internet, and the number of posts that I've drafted but never posted has been a little bit ridiculous. Now I'm back and completely ready to share more of my thoughts with you all, and I've got a fair few ideas in my head right now.

Realistically I have a lot of time now to devote to the blog, but long term it would be naive to believe that I'll continue to be able to dedicate so much time. Therefore it's important to me that I not only push myself in terms of different and challenging post ideas, but I also include posts that are little more than my thoughts and therefore fit in well with my everyday life. I want to continue to do Life Updates because I think they're a really easy way to check …
